Upon arrival at Agadir (AGA) or Marrakech (RAK) airports, border police will stamp your passport free of charge. You will simply fill out a brief landing card (sometimes provided on the airplane or at the terminal). No special vaccines are mandatory for tourist entry.

How do airport transfers work, and is Agadir (AGA) or Marrakech (RAK) the better airport to fly into?

We include complimentary round-trip airport transfers from Agadir with all of our 7-night surf packages—our friendly driver will be waiting right at arrivals holding a sign with your name. Direct low-cost and national flights to Agadir run regularly from London Gatwick/Stansted, Manchester, Dublin, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Stockholm, and Copenhagen (via Ryanair, EasyJet, TUI, Transavia, Royal Air Maroc, and Wizz Air).

If you find cheaper flights into Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), it is approximately 270 km (3 to 3.5 hours) away via modern divided toll highway. You can either book our private door-to-door transfer (€120 to €140 per car, comfortably shared between up to 4 guests) or take the modern, air-conditioned CTM or Supratours luxury coach from Marrakech to Agadir bus terminal (€10-€12 per ticket), where we will pick you up free of charge.

What currency is used in Morocco, and are credit cards or ATMs readily available in Tamraght?

The official currency of Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Exchange rates hover around 10.5 to 11 Dirhams per 1 Euro (or approx. 12-13 MAD per £1 GBP / 10 MAD per $1 USD). You can easily withdraw Dirhams from ATMs upon arrival at Agadir (AGA) or Marrakech (RAK) airports.

In Tamraght, there is a modern ATM located within a 5-minute walk of our surf house, and several additional ATMs operate in nearby Taghazout and Aourir. While Wellen Maroc Surf House accepts major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and bank transfers for your package balance and extras, local village bakeries, surf cafes, souk market stalls, and taxi drivers operate on cash Dirhams. We recommend keeping 300 to 500 MAD (€30-€50) cash in your pocket for souvenirs, smoothies, and tipping.
